So fun to see things of the past get used in a new way! Ms. Anna's 2-3 year old class used a record player to create art this week. They were working on manipulating the materials (drawing on a spinning surface helped practice coordination and fine motor control). They were also experimenting with cause and effect--children could change the speed and direction of the spinning and see how it changed the drawing they created. The children took turns and collaborated on their art-- teaching patience and sharing.

Hastings High School students in Youth Impact Council hosted at coin drive over 4 days at the high school. They raised $869.77 just by collecting change from advisory classrooms! Thank you to all the students and staff that donated. The money raised supported Hastings Family Service Project Share by shopping for 14 people. Special thank you to Merchants Bank for helping count coins and Walmart for providing a private checkout lane to help keep everything organized.
Several volunteers from our senior center had the pleasure of joining Ms. Michelle's preschool class to create gingerbread houses. It's one of the many special opportunities we have here at Tilden with a span of generations under one roof.
